Overview

A Scientific Platform for the Halal Ecosystem

The academic sessions bring together academics, researchers, policy and decision-makers to discuss current challenges and emerging opportunities across the halal economy. Abstracts should present original research, case studies, or innovative insights relevant to the halal industry.

Submissions should not have been previously presented at other conferences or published in any academic journal. All abstracts are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process, and papers may be presented as oral or poster presentations.

Submission Deadline

Abstract and full-text submissions close on 25 September 2026. Acceptance and rejection notifications are sent on 23 October 2026. Any changes or extensions may not be made to these dates.

Abstract

Abstract Guidelines

  1. Abstracts can only be submitted through the online KongreSoft congress management system on the congress website.
  2. Abstracts should present original research, case studies, or innovative insights relevant to the halal industry.
  3. Submissions should not have been previously presented at other conferences or published in any academic journal.
  4. Submissions should be made in English.
  5. All texts should be written in Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. No space should be left before or after paragraphs.
  6. Title: it should not exceed 15 words, and no abbreviations should be used.
  7. The submitted abstract should include the paper title; full contact details of the corresponding author (name, affiliation, institution, address, e-mail and phone); the names, affiliations, academic or corporate titles and e-mails of all co-authors; the abstract summary; key findings, results or preliminary conclusions; and keywords.
  8. Academic titles (if any), institutional affiliations, positions, country of participation and contact information should be provided in the author information section, numbered accordingly.
  9. Abstracts should not exceed 350 words, excluding the title, author names, institutional information and keywords.
  10. Keywords: a maximum of 5 keywords, separated by commas.
  11. Abbreviations should not be used in the abstract.
  12. Abstracts should not include tables, figures or references.
  13. An author may participate in the congress with a maximum of two papers.
  14. The deadline for abstract submission is 25 September 2026.
  15. Accepted abstracts will be included in the Congress Book and published on the WHS Halal Congress website.
Full Paper

Full Paper Guidelines

Full-text publication is optional. Submissions must comply with all abstract guidelines in addition to the requirements below.

  1. Full papers can only be submitted through the online KongreSoft congress management system on the congress website.
  2. Research articles should be written under the headings Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. In review articles, the selection of subheadings is left to the author’s discretion.
  3. The full text, excluding the title, authors, abstract and references, should be between 1,500 and 2,500 words.
  4. The full text should be written in Times New Roman, 12 point font size, and 1.5 line spacing.
  5. Tables, figures and graphs should be integrated directly into the text where relevant. Table titles must appear above the tables; figure titles must appear below the figures.
  6. Headings, subheadings and titles for tables and figures must be numbered hierarchically (e.g. 1., 1.1., 1.1.1).
  7. Citations and references should follow the APA system. In-text citations should appear in parentheses and be listed in chronological order; in the reference section, sources should be listed alphabetically. Journal titles should be abbreviated according to conventional ISO standards. For further details, refer to the APA 7th Edition Style Guide.
  8. The deadline for full paper submission is 25 September 2026.
  9. Accepted full papers will be included in the Congress Book and published on the WHS Halal Congress website.
Presentations

Presentation Types

  1. Papers may be presented as oral presentations or poster presentations. Authors must indicate their preferred presentation type during submission.
  2. Authors should prespecify their intended mode of oral presentation: in-person, live online or pre-recorded.
  3. Poster presentations will be conducted in person only.
  4. Additional guidelines regarding presentation templates, duration and technical specifications will be announced in due course.
  5. All submissions will be processed through the online KongreSoft congress management system on the congress website.
Participation

Academic Registration Categories

Registration is free of charge for all academic categories.

Category Benefits
Attendee (Listener) Participants who attend the congress solely to follow the scientific sessions. Badge, certificate of attendance, coffee break refreshments for three days.
Presenting Author (Oral / Poster) Participants whose abstracts have passed the double-blind peer-review process and who deliver an oral or poster presentation. Badge, certificate of attendance, lunch for three days, coffee break refreshments for three days.
Invited Academic Speaker An expert or academician invited to share their scientific expertise, research and academic background. Badge, certificate of attendance, lunch for three days, coffee break refreshments for three days, travel and accommodation.
